One more question. For axiom red, if I breed two parents with one copy of the gene, will I get a full axiom red foal? :)

This doesn't mean that if you make the cross four times you will get 1 homozygous Red, 2 heterozygous Reds and 1 with no red. It means that for each time you make the cross, the odds of getting homozygous Red will be 1 in 4.

As far as inbreeding and even lines and getting the recessive genes you want to actually show, some of us end up breeding brothers and sisters that both inherited the gene from the same parent to get those genes. This filly is homozygous for snowflake because both of her parents have the same sire, my snowflake stud Aristo, so they're both heterozygous, and she got it from both of them, that 1 in 4 chance. It takes patience to get the horses you want this way, and you get a lot of hets in the mean time, but it does work.
