Is the candy pony creation event real, or is that a bug?

According to the statement on the Create A Horse page, the odds of creating one are larger than usual, but that doesn't mean that they be a common sight. There's still a lot of luck involved in getting one.

I got a candy corn HH about a day after I noticed the event and created the horse but still have no idea how it can be traded in or if I did something completely wrong. (I’m relatively new and still clueless to about half the features) :-\"

The horse comes with a Gene Modification Treatment token that you can use in the GMT lab when you turn it in. The color will go away and the horse will just be a regular create, but you get the token. You can sell the horse with the token intact for quite a bit of cash, too.

I have not gotten one yet and have created more than 200 horses since the beginning of october.

@birb1 the candy corn HH is not the same as a candy pony. A candy pony has candy stripes (red and white) and can be turned it for a GMT token. This message also shows up on the page of a candy pony. That is what the event means by candy ponies.
The candy corn is a name for a herd helper, just like a storm warning HH, The Blackest Night HH, Trick or Treat HH, Candy Appleloosa HH... So the horse you've created is not a candy pony that can be turned in for a GMT but a pony made with the candy corn herd helper.

We're just spoiled from the Jellyfish SeaPony event. :D

There is (was?) a limited type of candy pony with the candy "candy corn" graphic instead of the peppermint swirl. It's in no way tied to the DHH Candy Corn.

Pretty new here and this is my first candy pony (I started during the jellyfish event and never saw one except for the forums.)

The problem is I kind of love it and want to keep it...

@Exewhyzeee a lot of people end up keeping a few of theirs from events especially if they aren't heavy into GMTing.. I have 3 or 4 sea ponies from last event but I'm a heavy gene modder so they typically don't last that long in my show barns before I turn them in

How strange looking! I thought they were supposed to be Red & White striped? I know those are Candy Corns but to me it looks like Popcorn kernels.

@harmonyC Normally a Candy Pony is red and white but these ones are special Candy Corn because of Halloween (I assume)

Candy corn is made to look like corn kernels. Hence the name.

Ammit - Yes I know that. What I meant was that it doesn’t look like Candy Corn to me. Maybe it’s because I’ve worked in a Movie Theatre and my main job there was making the Popcorn. It struck me as being just popcorn kernels at first. If that makes any sense. I know that Candy Corn and Popcorn kernels look alike but Candy Corn was not my first thought when I saw that.

I have a Halloween Tack Pack from several years ago that has this Pumpkin Patch background in it. I don't know if Ammit put it up for sale again this year. It only costs 1 IV if she did. Full name of the tack pack: This Is Halloween.
