Adding TE to lined horse

    I posted in the Chat group. I just found this one.

    Can you add TE to a lined bred horse? I tried and it says that it already has the gene on the allele, but when I look at the horse it does not show up nor did it take my coins.

    Neither parent has TE, so it cannot be added.

    Lined horses can only be gene modified according to what the sire and dam carry.

    So it is much easier to modify Foundation’s over Lined?

    Well actually looking at the Modifications can really only be done to foundations. If both parents have the TE gene then the foal will have it as well.

    Lined horses can be modified, but only within the limits of their parents' genetics.
    If a particular gene is present in the list of alleles carried by one or both parents, that gene can be added to any of their foals that weren't born with the gene. Foals are only guaranteed to be born with the genes for which their parent(s) are homozygous. (i.e. a foal will always inherit TE1 from a parent that is homozygous TE1)
    Foundations are the only horses that can receive unlimited genetic modifications, so long as they have no offspring in the game.
