  • In honor of the game, I made Butterscotch Haystack Cookies!
I was given this recipe 20 years ago in a workplace cookie exchange.

    image

1 - 5 oz can of crunchy Chinese noodles
1 - 11 oz bag of butterscotch chips
    1/2 cup of salted peanuts
OR a pinch of salt for those who cannot have nuts
    Sprinkles optional

Melt the chips in a double boiler or in the microwave. If using the microwave, use 30-second intervals, stirring well between each until melted.

    Fold in noodles and peanuts.

On a wax paper lined cookie sheet, drop cookies using a spoon. While still maliable, add sprinkles. Put in the refrigerator for a half hour until set.

    Yields 2 dozen.

I made these today for our church Christmas Bazaar on Saturday.

  • Well I decided to try an untested recipe off the internet… and despite thinking this recipe didn’t seem right stuck with the instructions as in the past I have messed up second guessing new recipes. No the recipe doesn’t work, it burnt out the mixer as the liquid to dry was massively off. So new mixer ordered… recipe will be adjusted to what I think it should be not what the original says and I will try again. Hubby has to wait to do his cookies too as the mixer went poof. But we will make cookies! lol

  • Brownie Cupcakes

    1/4 cup water
    1/2 cup melted butter
    2 eggs
Boxed Brownie mix (I used the dark chocolate mix by Betty Crocker)

    Preheat oven to 350°F
Combine all ingredients and divide into twelve lightly greased muffin tin wells.
Bake for 28-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into center of brownies comes out almost clean. Allow brownies to cool slightly before removing from tins and transferring to cooling rack.

    Optional:
    Chocolate chips or chunks
Vanilla extract or other alcohol-based flavors (I added a splash of Vanilla extract, Kahlua, and Amaretto)
Frosting or whipped cream as topping

  • These a a very quick and easy snack that are both sweet and savoury. measure with your heart. There are so many different ways to tweak this.

I found this recipe on Instagram

    You need:

Coco Pops (or Choco Krispis, Choco Krispies, Coco Pops, Choco Pops depending on region)
Dessicated coconut or sprinkles. I used dessicated coconut.
    Dark chocolate melts
mini jatz (or ritz crackers). I used mini jatz with sea salt.

Spread coco pops in a baking dish.
    Lightly sprinkle coconut over top.
Place chocolate buttons on top of cocopops and melt in low temp oven until chocolate is melted.
Place mini jatz in top of chocolate and lightly press down. Place in refrigerator until cool

  • @Visions,

I'm wanting to try your recipe, but I am unable to source butterscotch chips. Do you think peanut butter chips would work?

Maybe I could use white chocolate and add butterscotch essence to it? Hmmm

  • Peanut butter is nothing like butterscotch but I bet it would taste amazing anyways!

  • Brownies are by far my favorite dessert! I've tried lots of different recipes but lately I've used a basic recipe and added my own things to it.

https://gimmedelicious.com/easy-one-bowl-fudgy-cocoa-brownies/#wprm-recipe-container-13196 This is my base recipe I normally use.

    Ingredients:
▢1/2 cup butter, or oil (I use salted butter!)
▢1 cup sugar (For this batch I did half brown sugar, not packed, just spooned into measuring cup, and half white sugar)
    ▢1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
    ▢2 large eggs
    ▢1 teaspoon vanilla
    ▢1/4 cup flour
▢1/4 tsp salt (I still put this in even if i use salted butter becuase I like how it complements the chocolate, but feel free to skip this if you use salted butter)
▢1/2 cup favorite adds-ins (I didn't add anything in the batter, but I did spread melted chocolate chips on top. My favorite is to swirl some melted peanut butter in before baking, but my hubby isn't a fan of chocolate/PB combo so I omitted it this time since I was sharing while he's working from home this month)

Just a lil update: I put these in the fridge covered with plastic wrap and they are STILL SO fudgy a day later, I almost prefer it chilled to the warm fresh from the oven slice I had

  • I made kgstable's brownies. They are so fantastically fudgy and gooey, just how I like them!
I lightly dusted mine with powdered sugar so they would pop better on camera, but the only thing I added to the recipe was dark chocolate chips. I'm going to take these to our weekly family dinner tomorrow night. :-)

Edit: I did a single batch and baked it in a 9x5 loaf pan, using the instructions on the recipe link.

  • I made a brownie cookie, based off the recipe on this website: https://www.allrecipes.com/recipe/222721/easy-brownie-mix-cookies/

    Recipe:
1 (18.3 ounce) package brownie mix
    1/3 cup vegetable oil
3 tablespoons all-purpose flour, or more as needed
    2 large eggs
    1 teaspoon vanilla extract
    1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
    1 cup semisweet chocolate chips

    Preheat oven to 350.
Mix all ingredients, fold in chocolate chips. Line a baking sheet with wax paper and drop dough 2 inches apart. Cookies should be on the middle rack. Bake for 10 minutes.

I added some chocolate frosting with sprinkles to a few, but they really didn't need them.

(I have no idea why the picture showed up so large, I'm doing all this from my phone which complicates things)
