Introducing the Crabbet Arabian, our end of 2025 breed characteristic.
-

Our end of the year Breed Characteristic is the Crabbet Arabian. The Crabbet stud was founded in the UK in 1878 and produced Arabian horses for nearly 100 years. The stud imported bloodstock directly from Arabia and focused on producing hearty riding stock.
The poulary of this lineage peaked in the early 1900s and is the time period our art is based on. During this time Crabbet Arabians had generally straighter profiles and a good amount of bone to help keep them sound. The Crabbet Arabians were as also instrumental in the foundation of the Welsh pony, and the Kellogg and Davenport Arabian lines in the US.
This BC is usable for both light and medium bone horses. It can be unlocked for 5 golden tokens, and is already available to BC subscription holders.
Check out some of the inspiration photos we used as references in the creation of this BC.

WV New Forest
I made a new breed called Nizzolan. In 1976 I went on a riding holiday in the New Forest at the stables of a woman called Ann Hyland. She was American but living in the south of England. She had an Arabian stallion called Nizzolan, and took part in an endurance ride on him while I was staying there. I have found a link to his pedigree.

His sire was bred in America, and the sire of that horse was bred at the Crabbet stud in Sussex. Also in Nizzolan's ancestry are three of the reference horses Ammit has put in her post - Raffles, Raktha and Faris. Nizzolan was a grey horse so I have added the gray gene to my founding stallion and called him New Forest as a memory of a fantastic holiday, and the closest I ever came to owning a horse. I had a chestnut Arab x New Forest pony for the week. :)Thanked by 1Fiddler -
