A cloning experiment
  • I’ve been sitting on a stockpile of hbs (well, a stockpile for me anyway lol) so I decided to clone my favorite Kings Ransom, who throws big dense spots, and add LP to see what I get.

Look at those nice spots :))

I think I’m going to remove her champagne. Have to decide if I want to swap her cream for a second pearl or leave that be. I can’t wait to breed her!

    Oh! DP does/did clone, right?

  • Very pretty! Yes, DP did clone last time I cloned a Liver. :)

  • So...maybe the genetics that cause the big spots also clones?
  • DP is probably the genetics, at least an important part of the genetics, that cause the big spots, according to this discussion on the FB-group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/huntandjump/permalink/3836245893082993/
  • Yep!
But it’s not all DP since it’s rampant in my Appy line and I still have small spots. And some FFs have small spots. :-?

But apparently it’s possible to clone whatever group of factors cause big spots.

Or I just got lucky. If I find myself sitting on enough hbs with no plan what I want to do with them, maybe I’ll have to try again. :)) I almost cloned my last remaining big spot FF, but ultimately went with the Ransom.
