4th gen stars are possible, but that requires some boosting along the line. If you look at the pedigree of my 4th gen *Stars you can see they all have at least one boosted foundation in their bloodline (A papered stallion or blue papered mare), so in essence they 'skip' a generation thanks to the boosting.
I don't think somebody ever achieved a 4th gen *Star started with all C papered foundations, but it might be possible with 'normal' exceptional producers. B to start with, 2gen superior to sire A, 3rd gen higher A and then the 4th gen who is also superior to its sire might turn out to be a low *Star. But it would be really hard to achieve that I think. Maybe I should try to do that sometime :p
