Unusual Champagne Fizzy Mare?
-
I’ve been looking at a lot of champagne fizzy mares lately and what I’ve realized is I have one that seems to have not gotten the memo-
BB Heart Of Gold
While other horses are gold cream champagne, she seems to be classic cream champagne- which is significant darker. Is this because she is a blackout as well? -
The classic champagne is caused by a double E gene, so I would say yes it's caused by the Blackout event.
-
Yes, Blackout overrides the base color on all DHHs, I love it. :) I created and bought so many Blackouts this time around that I had to devote a barn just for them!
Gold cream champagne is chestnut (ee, any Agouti) + heterozygous cream (CCcr) + het or homogeneous champagne (Chch or ChCh).
Classic is black (EE or Ee, aa) based,
Sable is brown (E_, At_, and must have sooty or sooty +),
Amber is bay, which covers a lot of different Agouti combinations lol. Ee or EE, and then everything that isn't brown or black such as AA, Aa, AA+, AAt, AtAt with no sooty, A+a, A+A+.Bluegrass #143376 * Specializing in Iced Axiom (ExPro Cobs) and Iced Phantoms (PF Riding Ponies)
