Can someone explain these to me?

It's been a long time since I've played and I'm trying to rebuild my account. I know there have been lots of changes in the last couple years.
In the past, I never really understood the point of the LBs and never won anything. How do I get horses that will be competitive on them? -
For most leaderboards, breeding the highest quality possible is the way to reach the top. Bootstrapping is a good way to get you there faster. Once you've reached the natural breeding ability cap, you can start boosting to breed higher PT foals. This also means that you'll be breeding better show horses, which will gradually increase your daily income.
Personally, I've found that my most consistent LB winners are my double-boosted breeders from higher eras and with rare/recessive genes.
My advice would be to look through the LBs to see which club's winners are lower quality or aging out, and work on having some double-boosted breeders specifically for those clubs. You would need to consistently breed them to each other and/or outside double-boosted horses with similar genes every month, register them and the foals in the club you're competing in, and make sure to enter your horses in two shows every week.
The "best producing" and "highest PT" boards are the easiest and fastest boards to get on, while the "___ circuit high point" boards take quite some time to reach the top.
Futurity and Era boards are a little different if you aim for the newest boards, as those competitors can't be boosted to get ahead. New eras are great for having a level playing field if you can join in when they start, or if you can purchase embryos from the higher level horses of those eras.
Eras also have the advantage of only having one requirement, one which can't be edited in the gene mod lab.
If you want to go for double-boosted breeders in a particular era, you'll have a better shot if you go for an era that has only just reached the point of starting to get them (i.e. Era 15), since there's less competition there.Might be addicted to pixel ponies...

Also if you join the futurities, it could help your stallions and/or mares get pushed up the leaderboards. if you hang onto the foals that you bred, they could potentially win gmts.
also, if you breed 50 foals or more, you add your name onto this month's futurity contest. you could win a 250 stall barn -
@Ambervalleyarabians what are the futurities? And how do I join?
-
it's pretty simple. every time you breed to someone's stallion the resulting foal is might be eligible for futurity.
the foals must be the same era or higher than the stallion.
for example, if you breed to an era 10 stallion, the mare must be between era 10 to
era 19
You dont need to lock in the foal for it to be eligible, but it does help.
locking the foal means that you cant sell the foal back to the game. its best to keep the foals until they are 6 yrs old. the majority of foals win when they are 5 yrs old
If you lock the foals, you are eligible to join the contest.
here is info on that.
i am the admin for the futurity, so feel free to ask any additional questions you have!

also, i forgot to mention, if you list your own stallions for public breed, and/or pull straws, others will breed to him. he will also be qualified to win awards also.Thanked by 1Wingedeagle

@ambervalleyarabians I only have foundation mares of the current era. Meaning they will all be only yellow or red papered, and won't match the quality of the available stallions. Will those foals still have a chance at winning?
