I’m at about 17,000 points. Is there a market for foundations created without points? Or would I just be making horses with low value?

Foubdations without points are usually only worth something if they are Rank Specials, since everyone can create them :) if you go above 20 000 points, you will be able to create foundations with points again if you sell some of your horses with points.

So unless I am making them for myself or they are rank specials, are non pointed foundations basically worthless?

They're not worthless, it's just that people don't really want to buy them because they could just create them themselves. Unless it's a liver because people really like the DP.

Every horse in the game is worth at least the 2,500 you can get for them at the auction.

Thank you, Ammit. Sorry, I didn’t phrase that right (I have Pragmatic Language Impairment/Social Communication Disorder, so I can’t find the right words sometimes). I currently make most of my income by selling herd helpers that I get from the forum. After I do full testing, my goal is to at least break even.

Only test the ones you think you want to keep ; they only cost 500 to pasture breed ; so there is a clear profit of 2k there if you don't test them because you don't like their patterns or w/e

Building your show herd is the most profitable way to ensure a steady income. The pointed creates are a step towards that goal, mostly to help you find those good show horses to build your show herd. Ammit ran a contest last year (or was it the year before?) Where we all tried to make enough HBs to buy a Basic upgrade. I don't know of anyone who did that by selling horses. Several players did it building bootstrap herds. I will bet that the majority of the big barns (I consider over 5000 to be big) will agree that its all about your show herd. /rant
