    I wonder if the DHH is hiding any surprises. It's been known to happen from time to time with new special rank DHHs.

    Well, I bred my Bone Fire stallion to a Chocolate Palomino mare and got this Palomino filly. She looks like she inherited both sooty and DP from her dam.

    Bred to a homozygous Ssty mare, he gave me another Palomino filly who does not look dark enough to have more than the single Ssty she inherited from her dam.

    This colt also doesn't look any darker than I'd expect for a single Ssty.

    My conclusion is that my stallion does not show any signs of passing on DP, but this is a pretty small sample to say that he definitely does not. I suspect that he doesn't, though.
