straws and eggs expiring

I've got a lot of eggs and straws that were pulled with no expiration date that are now expiring? can someone please explain whats going on?

Horses with no living descents in the game will have straws and eggs marked for expiration after 4 real life months. We really need to allow stock that no one is breeding to to pass out of the game and free up server resources.
If you actually want to use the straws and eggs you need to use them, but the game won't keep a horse with no decedents around forever.Need to contact me? Read this first.

All foals left in the pasture at the end of the season will now be moved to your primary barn at end of the month rollover. This is to prevent issues with pastures becoming overfilled.
