Best way to sell sea pony?

Was creating a bunch of horses and got one of those sea ponies... I assume they are valuable to others either due to rarity or for the GMT but I'm not a fan of the look and I already have 5 GMT that I don't have immediate use for (I like breeding in genes, just because that's my favorite part of the game) so I don't need another.
Would just putting her in the auction work, so everyone who wants has a fair chance, or would a forum auction situation be better? Or is there just a set price (presumably the cost of a GMT I'd assume) and I should just accept the first offer of that price? -
