New Player Seeking Advice
-
Hi! I'm a relatively new player (joined like 2-3 weeks ago) and I'm at the point where I have a decent amount of horses but I've found that I never have enough money and I'm beginning to run out of room.
What are successful players doing? Are there other ways to make money outside of showing and daily bonuses? What do I need to be focusing on/spending HB on and what isn't worth the price?
Thank you so much in advance <3 -
Definitely take a look at Ammit's monthly updates on the progress of her beginner account. She's using all of the right strategies to build up the earnings of an early account.
Basically, the best advice I can pass along from those who helped me in the beginning is to focus on your show herd first. These are your gelded/spayed horses that enter shows twice a week and accumulate points for you. It takes some time, but it is well worth the patience!
Personally, I learned that starting off with a mix of low to high PT levels was really helpful. A bootstrapping herd quickly gets you those higher PT scores that typically earn you more points in the long run, but it does take a while for them to reach that higher earning level; while you wait for those ones to reach the higher levels, the lower level show horses earn some nice points to keep everything going.
My suggestion would be to invest in a high level stud and ten or more mares to match with him, then make use of pasture breeding every month. The pasture bonus and the lower cost of pasture breeding make it a great option for bootstrapping. You could even keep your whole bootstrapping herd in a pasture 24/7 so that they auto-breed each season, providing you with a nice monthly crop of show foals to earn income. Just make sure you remember to move the foals into a barn before breeding season ends! (I think most, if not all, of us have forgotten at least once and lost a whole crop of foals).
As your daily bonus grows, it's a good idea to invest in additional barn space to make room for more show horses, as well as new breeding projects. -
i can send you some nice show ponies to help you get started. i might have a good stallion and mares to send also

Running short of hbs when you first start is a common problem. As you are a new player, I am unable to send you hbs directly, but I have added you to my buddy chat. Just put one of your horses in there for sale at 250,000 hbs and I will buy it. Choose one that you don't really want. You can then turn those hbs into IVs (Investment Vouchers) and spend them on a new barn, or fund your entries into shows twice a week. Whatever you decide to do, I hope you are having fun. :)
