What causes this phenotype?
  • So I've noticed that some classic champagne horses have darker spots and some don't. For example here's my horse which has spots:

And here's a horse that I found with the same pigment modifier genetics that does not have spots:

Is there a hidden gene that causes this? Or is it just random?

There's something similar with silver black horses. Here's my silver black horse with lighter spots:

And here's a horse with the same pigment modifiers but no spots:

Is this another hidden gene? The same as with champagne? Or just random?

I like this spotting pattern and I want to try to breed for it if it's heritable.
  • I'm not 100% sure on the Silver Black dapples, but I do know that the Classic Champagne dapples are entirely random. You can reroll the image seed until you get the dapples.
