Inconsistent mane and tail color?

I've noticed it on a bunch of my bay horses, where their manes will look chestnut. And I figured it was just something coded that way for what ever reason. But then this boy had black default mane and tail, and then when I changed his hair style he washed out to chestnut.

Gene Guide Update!
The sunshine gene, previously known only from one line of Standardbreds has been discovered in a TWH. The gene guide has been updated with this new information. Sunshine may be much wider spread than originally thought.1/27/2026 3:58 AM EST
