Boosting Question

Quick question, just how many boosts can you add to one horse? I have this colt up to 5 which makes him AGA 2gA, and I want to try adding a few more to see if I can get him superior (I feel weird not using a superior 3g lol)
Is it possible?
The colt -
Maximum of 5%, either one 5% boost or up to five 1% boosts.
