How do I purchase a horse?- I'm NEW
-
Just wondering on what page, link, whatever. I was able to see how to put my horses for SALE, but how do I PURCHASE a horse or see if it's for sale?
-
You can click on the horse if you are doing a horse search and scroll all the way to the bottom where you will find a button that says purchase this horse and if you have enough hb he/she is yours. Here is an example of one of my horses that are for sale. http://www.huntandjump.com/horse.php?horseid=3149974

You sell a horse by:
1) clicking on the horse you would like to sell
2) go to the top of the horse's profile and click control panel
3) You will come to a page that looks like this, (down below) Click on the small rectangle and set an appropriate price based on pedigree or color pattern if rare
4) Hit the button that says "Sell horse' and your horse is now for sale

One reliable source for new players to buy decent horses is the Foundation Rescue. Go to the Horse Search page and enter 13 in the space for Owner. This will take you to a collection of foundation horses, all of whom will have 100% showing ability (as good as a regular create horse can get) and 100% breeding ability (as good as a regular create can get) and 100% consistency (Their scores when they show will always be the same each time they show in a given week and they will regularly gain 3 score points when you train them each week.) You probably won't find many fancy colors and patterns, there will be lots of bays and chestnuts (*G*), but they make reliable horses for a starting stable.
On Sundays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays, the public auction runs. Be careful there, because lots of mediocre or frankly horrible horses get tossed there. Examine their showing records and their offspring if any; check their ages. Horses begin to die at the "yearly" roll-over when they reach 18 and cannot be bred after they get to 20. I don''t often use the auction myself anymore because I have a chronic lack of open stalls (*G*), but when I first began playing I found some nice horses in the auction.
Players often advertise horses they have for sale here in the forum. Once again, check them carefully, but it can also be a good way to build a nice herd.
Welcome to the game. It's a great one, but very complex. Don't get discouraged, though. We are a friendly community and always glad to lend a helping hand to new players. Specific questions, as you asked here, are always best. Broad general ones can be impossible to answer.
There is some good information on our old forum that can still be accessed.

Just on search, uncheck all the options except for sale
