Question on Notes editing

Im trying to edit sire crosses for my 3g/4g public broods, but i keep bolding the whole sentence and not just the sire name. I know im likely just typing something wrong but help would be appreciated XD
Also, how could i add color? I noticed some notes have color :3 -
I have a basic upgrade, can i make a tatoo/where do i find the option to do so?

1. If you just want to make the sire's name bold, put < B > in front of the name and < /B > at the end of it. Type the HTML without the spaces to the right of < and to the left of >.
Click on the Simple Html link just below the text box for information on how to specify colors.
2. On the right of your Stable Home Page, under Upgraded Features, you will find Tattoo Registry at the bottom of the list. This is where you create your tattoos. Your first tattoo slot is free. After that, they cost 10k. You can edit the name of each tattoo, then click on Edit Tattoo Image to design it. You will have a square that is 25 pixels by 25 pixels to do it in.
